Gal shaft

The Gal shaft, sunk in the greenery

Built in 1924 with a masonry headframe, the shaft was placed next to the winder house, the workshops and the forge facilities. Once the railway transport of minerals was over, a reinforced concrete hopper was built in proximity of the shaft, in 1948, to load material onto trucks and then carry it to the nearby works.
At present, the structure hosts a multi-media museum, guarding the rich heritage of these places to tell about their memory and history.
