Siddi, Nuraghe ‘Sa Fogaia’

The nuraghe ‘Sa Fogaia’

Sited up above, as a sentry watching over the highland (Giara) of Siddi, the nuraghe with corridor is inserted inside the Municipal Park ‘Sa Fogaia’, an oasis of lushing vegetation hosting countless animal species, besides a number of naturalistic equipped routes. The nuraghe is named after the area where it stands, called sa fogaia, probably used as a coal deposit in the past. It consists of three large megalithic bodies arranged in a row, with secondary buildings. Its first construction stage can be referred to the age of Early Middle Bronze. Inside, during excavation works, several tools for daily use were recovered, such as cups, vessels and bowls.
