Sited at the heart of the village, next to the parish church of the Immaculate – almost to underline the contrast between sacred and secular – the important edifice was built at the beginning of 1600 by the Barons of Zapata upon the vestiges of the ancient Nuragic Barumini. To suit Philip II ’s taste in those years, the style of the construction is classicist, inspired by Zapata Palace of Cagliari. Today, hold up by an interesting network of walkways and platforms, the Museum of Nuragic Civilization is going to become one of the major museums of the Island.
