Sanluri, Capuchin Friars’ Ethnographic Museum

Collinas, B&BArt Museo di Arte Contemporanea Italia Colombia

The Museum is hosted inside the Capuchin Friars’ convent, built upon one of the most panoramic hills of the area, at a short distance from the medieval castle. It contains a collection of works of sacred art, including pictures dating from the 15th century; a number of handicrafts of local manufacture; working tools used by friars during the four centuries of the convent’s life and, finally, various archaeological finds dating back to different periods, from the Nuragic age to the times of the Kingdom of Italy. Also, there are ancient pieces of equipment from laboratories of physics, old chemist’s instruments, a collection of vintage photo-cameras and clocks and animated models reproducing the ancient ways of life in the fields.
