The church of San Michele Arcangelo

In the old centre, characterized by narrow, cobbled streets and houses built in raw bricks (ladiri), the parish church of the Holiest Virgin of Graces was rebuilt in the early 17th century upon a pre-existing church of 1600. A high bell tower, erected in 1688, rises above the edifice. The church guards a few wooden statues of the 17th century and a wooden altar made in 1766. The most ancient building of the village is the church of San Michele Arcangelo, raised in the 13th century in Romanesque style. This two-nave church – the smallest Romanesque church in Sardinia – shows a particular sculpture cycle in relief on the lintel of its left portal, illustrating five anthropomorphic figures.
